Mizuki Nana: Trickster
Vocals/lyrics by Mizuki Nana
Composed/arranged by Agematsu Noriyasu

君が「大好きだよ」っていつも無邪気な声で笑うから Because you always say “I adore you” with such an innocent laugh
僕の我が儘な感情 -時計- はほら、動き始める Look, my egoistic timepiece (emotions) has started to change
壊れた玩具並べ 自分の理想の城作って Lining up broken toys; I built my ideal castle
誰もが求める幸せに心奪われていた Fascinated by the happiness that anyone would seek

「大丈夫」と鍵をかけて隠してた Saying “it’s alright”, I locked up and hid away
たくさんの本音 -言葉- たち さあ、解き放ってみよう That many words (ulterior motives); so come, release them all

君の紡ぐ物語 僕に教えてよ Tell me the tale that you have spun
それは、どの神話 -星- よりも美しく光る It is more beautiful and bright than any star (legend)
たとえ現在が過去に塗り替えられたとしても If we were to repaint the past right now
あの日から続く夢のもっと先へ The dream that had continued from that day goes further
迷わず記すよ 僕だけのSCENARIO Don’t hesitate and make note of my own scenario

君が「平気だから」っていつも真っ直ぐに見つめるから Because you always say “I don’t mind” while looking straight ahead
僕は知らずにいた本当の気持ちに気付けたんだ I became aware of true feelings that I had not known of

「変わらないものなんて、何一つないから」と Saying “because not one thing stays never-changing”
信じるという行為 -こと- にも 諦める癖がついてた Even that thing (act) called belief had been given up out of habit

渇いた空 モーブの霧に包まれていく The thirsting sky has been engulfed in a mauve mist
遥か遠く君の歌が聴こえてたんだ I yearn to hear your song, so far away and distant
答えのない頁だらけだっていいから As it’s alright despite the pages being covered with no answers
ひそか僕の中芽生えてたQUESTに In this quest where a secret is budding within myself
高らかに叫ぶ 怖いものはない!と I cry out loud: there is nothing I fear!

不意に襲う孤独はね So, an unexpected assault of loneliness
Level upへのsignalだから Is thus a signal to level up

君の紡ぐ物語 僕に教えてよ Tell me the tale that you have spun
それは、どの神話 -星- よりも美しく光る It is more beautiful and bright than any star (legend)
たとえ現在が過去に塗り替えられたとしても If we were to repaint the past right now
あの日から続く夢のもっと先へ The dream that had continued from that day goes further
迷わず記すよ 僕だけのSCENARIO Don’t hesitate and make note of my own scenario

僕の紡ぐ物語 君に伝えたい I want to tell you a tale I have spun
それは、終わりなき神話 -星- の愛 -いのち- の始まり It is the start of an unending star (legend)’s life (love)

Notes:

1) Any ideas what the title and lyrics have to do with each other? I vaguely recall Nana-chan mentioning it in one interview, but the details are a mess…

2) Words in (brackets) are those of the “written” lyrics. The sung lyrics are used in the main translation.

3) The lack of personal pronoun means that some parts can work the other way as well…but for flow, this was mostly set in a first-person point of view.

4) Not particularly pleased that there is no reference for verifying the translation, it’s most probably buggy. And was done under semi-consciousness and lack of sleep alternating, so do take with a pinch of salt and give corrections if you spot anything to change OTZ

Translation: Mizuki Nana “Pray” lyrics

Disclaimer: This translation is fanmade and Ikka does not claim that it is 100% accurate, but it is a product of much hard work and time. Please do not use without permission, though linking is OK.

Mizuki Nana: Pray
Vocals/lyrics by Mizuki Nana
Recorded and mixed by Kondo Hisayoshi
Sound produced by Elements Garden

今は前だけ見ればいい… 信じる事を信じればいい… Right now, it’s alright to only see what’s in front…it’s alright to believe in what is to be believed…
愛と絶望も羽根になり 不死なる翼へと Love and despair will both become feathers, forming immortal wings
蘇れ僕の鼓動 My pulse has revived

暗闇の月も星も 孤独を嘆く Holy tears Both moon and stars are dark, lamenting for solitude, holy tears
十字架を紡ぎ描こう 共に輝き尽きるまで Spinning and depicting a crucifix, till the end of our shared shining. (ikka: this line is poorly translated)

破壊のセレナーデ 瓦礫の 舞台 でも Destruction’s serenade, at a opera (stage) of rubble
君が唄えば 暁の果てに また羽撃けるはず If you were to sing it, you/I should be able to beat your/my wings at the conclusion of dawn.

僕は今でも弱いままで 光の剣を抜けないでいた Even though I am still weak at the moment, the sword of light has yet to be drawn
残酷な運命を逃げないで 凛と生きる為に I will not escape from my cruel present (fate), for the sake of living with dignity.
いつしか涙は明日を灯す 奇跡の太陽に Before my realising it, tears had become the guiding light to tomorrow, towards the sun of miracles.
もう行こう るものがあるから… I’ve already gone, because there is something for me to protect

ほんの少しでいい 君が笑ってくれれば Truly, merely a little of your smile is enough
黄昏の騎士となって 僕の全てを捧げよう I will become a knight of the evening, and consecrate my everything

名も無きラプソディ 心に咲く勇気 A nameless rhapsody, valor blossoming in my heart
君が願えば 銀河の彼方へ 無限に飛べるはず If you desire, you/I should be able to fly towards the opposite side of the galaxy.

僕は力はいらないよ たった一人救えるなら I don’t need power, if it’s only to rescue one person
百年の時をループしても 君を迎えにゆく Even if a hundred years’ time were to loop, I would go to receive you
何度倒れても空を見れば 答えがあるはず No matter how many times I fall, the answer would be there should I look into the sky
夜明けのない 世界なんてないから… There is no daybreak, because there is no such thing as the world…

君に誓いを僕は夢を 命の限り愛の限り Your vows, my dreams, the limits of life and the limits of love
震える声に口づけを A kiss from a quavering voice
そして…そして限りない未来へ…AH… And then…and then heading towards a future with no limits…AH…

僕はいつでも傍にいる どんな時でも傍にいるよ I am always by your side, will be by your side whenever it may be
この世の全てが敵だって 君だけの盾になる Even if all that is in this world opposes you, I will be the shield of only you
いつしか涙は明日を灯す 奇跡の太陽に Before my realising it, tears had become the guiding light to tomorrow, towards the sun of miracles.
もう行こう るものがあるなら… I’ve already gone, because there is something for me to protect

Notes:

1) Words in brackets are the lyrics’ meaning from the words themselves. The terms used follow those that are heard, eg. 舞台 as “opera”.

2) Poor, poor, poor punctuation throughout.

3) The translation is generally based on the POV of the person singing, though there is no use of the personal pronoun at times.

4) Despite consultation of 2 Japanese dictionaries and dictionary.com, my standard is not yet high enough to make this as polished as that from a person who can read and understand the lyrics fully. References were also made to leoheart-san’s Chinese translation found here, which also happens to be the home of the hilarious Mahou Anego Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS series, do pay a visit if you can read Chinese to some extent…eh, ikka is advertising…?[/ad]

5) Romaji lyrics can be found at byakuya. (EDIT: Another English translation, probably more accurate, can be found at the same site.)

6) All corrections and comments are welcome.
